Only in running...

Yep, you guessed it, today's TiaRT topic is "Only in running..." from the Runner's Lounge.

Only in running...
1. would I deem snot rockets appropriate (Truth: they're necessary on many of my runs. What once seemed gross is now just what runners do.)
2. would I not even blink an eye when dropping $100+ on running shoes, gear, therapy.
3. would I continue to subject myself again and again to something that nearly kills me (or so it seems). I can't tell you how many times during a half or full marathon I've said "tell me why the hell I'm doing this" and yet I keep on signing up!

Ok, your turn! Reblog or comment and let me know what your personal "only in running/shopping/working world/grad school" exceptions/habits/etc. are.

I read your comment and I've been trying to think of what to do in Paris. I wasn't there for very long so we mainly did the basic tourist stop (Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Louvre). We did spend the day at Versailles, which I would totally recommend. We also went to the Musee D'Orsay with is the modern art museum. If you have time I would try to see more of France out side of Paris too. I spent 3 weeks in Avignon, which is a fun city and still has a Medieval wall surrounding it. If I come up with more ideas I will let you know!

I assume Shoshanah's comment refers to a comment you left on her blog or something but I know one thing I would do in Paris -- I'd run. One of my favourite things to do in any place I visit.

I can't live without good shoes and am always willing to spend good money on them, but have you checked out holabirdsports.com? I used them a few months ago and got a great deal. And this week I went straight to Brooks' Web site and found an older model of shoes that I like for about $30 less than retail.
