Pizza Research

Last night, the manfriend and I each had tough workouts. He - the "Thursday nighter," that local cyclists treat like a race each week. She - 5 miles of speed work + warm up and cool down.

As a result, I declared we head out for pizza... at Pizza Research Institute! It's a very cool, funky place with great vegetarian and vegan pizza options. I hadn't been there since college.

They used to be in a little hole in the wall and now reside in what might have been an old auto repair shop at one time. Love garage doors.

We opted for the granny smith apple, walnut and gorgonzola pizza. It was great, but not flavor bursting like we had hoped.

I love trying new places and being pleasantly surprised. PRI is known for their pizza that has slices of juicy peach, broccoli and other goodness on it.

Now on to Friday Fashion...

This week was Business Commute Challenge week in Eugene, encouraging the community to use alternative methods of transportation - carpooling, walking, biking or taking the bus.

I managed to ride three days this week. Hello, biking fashion. With a 5.5 mile commute, I have to wear athletic clothes. The work clothes would just get too sweaty and gross.

Although it's definitely more time consuming to pack everything I need, it's such a pleasant way to commute to and from work.

Thursday's work outfit was a little sailor inspired.

Sweater: LOFT, pants: JCrew, shoes: can't remember...from Ross several years ago

Have you tried a new to you restaurant recently or any funky pizza combinations? Name one thing you're looking forward to this weekend.

That pizza looks really good- sorry it didn't live up to your expectations. We have a pizza place in Spokane called the Flying Goat and they have pizza combos like the one you had. I have only been there once because it is on the other side of town, but it was worth the trip.

I am looking forward to seeing my family tomorrow. :-)

That pizza looks and sounds delicious. I love trying new places! I was actually just planning where to carb load tomorrow night and was thinking either sizzle pie or flying pie! Pizza on the brain!

Cute outfit! And wait to go on biking to work! I bike, but it's only .75 miles! It's obviously walkable, but biking makes it a REALLY fast commute! :)

I had pizza this week, too, as our run club went out for a marathon send-off dinner as 5 are running marathons this weekend. The place we went to has GF pizza, so I got a sort of supreme pizza. It's so good! I rarely have pizza, so it is kind of a fun treat for me!

This weekend I am looking forward to going to lunch with my aunt, uncle, and cousins. We are going to this raw food place that I really love. I always get one of their 'pastas' which is usually shredded zucchini. It's SO good. And pretty much everything is glutne free!
That pizza looks so good! I had a mushroom and pear and Gorgonzola pizza that was really good. If you ever come back to the Bay Area, you have to try the Cheese Board Pizza in Berkeley. It's always vegetarian and they only have one kind per day, but they are all great!

We have been trying a lot of new restaurants around town and sadly have been disappointed. Today I feel like its hard to find good, healthy (sometiems) food!

I so want to run to work again, I wish I could do it more often, but 10 miles to work is a lot!

This is post- weekend but I ran a 5K with my 5 year old neighbor - it was so fun! She did great and we ran it in 25:50!
