Favorite Face Products

Happy Friday!

I thought I'd do a fun Facial Friday post since I haven't been too fashionable these days. I guess that's what you get when you throw on the first pair of pants and a sweater that work together and run out the door.

For a few years now, I've tried to simplify the products that go on my body, finding more basic things with less crap in them, to put it frankly. In that attempt, I've tried to use the Environmental Working Group's database to research products and their ratings when I'm looking to replace an item. I'll be the first to admit that not everything I use is free of toxins, but I'm working on it.

The EWG site is a great resource to find out if a product I'm using is more toxic than I might have thought or if one I'm contemplating purchasing meets my expectations. Keep in mind, they don't have all products fully rated, but it's a good place to start.

My favorite face washes right now: Oil-Free Acne Wash Neutrogena (love the hint of grapefruit) and Burt's Bees Soap Bark & Chamomile

I alternate between the two every day.

As for face moisturizer, I've fell in love with the "Yes to..." brand that Teri recommended a while back. The blueberry face towelettes are brilliant and leave the face feeling clean and moisturized on those nights when you just don't want to do the whole washing thing.

I like using the Yes to Tomatoes moisturizer before bed and use the Cetaphil Daily Facial SPF 15 for the morning because you shouldn't leave home without the SPF!

I bought most of these items at Tar-get.

Call this my Fashion Friday - for once I was semi coordinated, albeit for a run. Lucky coincidence in my 30 second mad dash to grab running clothes this morning.

Neon yellow Nike shirt paired with my Eugene Marathon long sleeve (love women's fit race shirts!), Nike capris and the Jolly Green Giant Garmin.

I used to be one of those uber annoying "must match my shirt with the piping on my shorts" kind of runners, but now I'm just lucky to have all the necessities with me. The worst is when you have everything BUT a sports bra!

Did anyone else swoon/curse when you opened your recent JCrew catalog? I made Pete hold it open and I told him everything I'd pick if I had an unlimited amount of money. Basically, there were about five items I DIDN'T want.

Oh and in other earth shattering news, I finally got on board with Instagram! I hadn't been able to find a username several months ago so I just got around to picking one. Feel free to follow me!

What's your favorite beauty product in your cabinet?

The blueberry face wipes are the BEST! I love the way they smell -- just a hint of blueberry
I love the Yes to Cucumbers brand! I use their Yes to Cucumbers hypoallergenic lotion for my face all the time. I love that, even though it's a regular moisturizer, it's still gentle enough to use on my face!

** I'd love it if you would participate in my new blog link-up Shopping List Friday! (See my blog for more details).
I got the J.Crew catalog, but i actually threw it away in the mail room because I didn't want to torture myself looking through it! Ha! I would have wanted pretty much everything, too!

I always like hearing what other people use for face products. I currently use a neutrogena face wash and a target moisturizer, but I am going to try a Mary Kay moisturizer that my friend recommended when I run out of my target stuff.

I use a Neutrogena face wash and Oil of Olay moisturizer with SPF. My favorite current face product is Burt's Bees eye cream with royal jelly.

I think I love everything in the jcrew catalog. It's dangerous.

My favorite beauty product right now is Friday's at the Farm lotion bars. Clean ingredients, and smells really good. Also a local product!

I use the data base too. I use the Yes brand for face wash & shampoo....and just found the moisturizer--glad to hear the good review on it! I also use Alima mineral make-up (it's a PDX company) and Honeybee products and love both.

When did J. Crew get so damn expensive? I mean, I used to be able to afford stuff from their sale section, but nowadays...all the shirts on clearance are still $100! I'm forced to go to J Crew Factory now (or actually, BodenUSA is even better). Blergh. I just wish J Crew weren't trying to be so darn upscale these days.

excellent submit, very informative. I'm wondering why the opposite specialists of this sector do not notice this. You should continue your writing. I'm sure, you've a great readers' base already!
